My Bra Was Too Tight and So Was My Patience by Jules Part-time copywriter, Full-time overthinker

Week 3: My Bra Was Too Tight and So Was My Patience

Dear diary,

Today I tried to do a 20-minute low-impact cardio session from YouTube. I say “tried” because most of it involved arguing with my sports bra, muting the overly cheery instructor, and wondering if early retirement from exercise was an option.

Let’s Talk Bra Drama:

Putting on my old sports bra should count as strength training. I had to wrestle it over my head like it was trying to escape. I got stuck halfway and almost screamed for help. There is no dignity in mid-bra panic. And once it was on, it was SO tight, I swear it was squeezing the rage right out of me.

Spoiler: I did the workout anyway. Rage-fuelled. Breathless. Bouncing slightly more than I’d like.

The Real Workout? Emotional Regulation.

The chirpy YouTube instructor kept saying things like “Smile through the burn!” and “You’ve GOT this, ladies!” which made me irrationally angry. I did NOT got this, Sharon. And the burn? Was real. Not just in my thighs, but in my soul.

By minute 12, I was doing half-hearted side steps and plotting revenge. But weirdly, I finished. Slightly sweatier than expected, but proud.

TYNA Tip of the Week

Note to self (and anyone over 40 with boobs): you deserve a better bra. The TYNA Medium Impact Sports Bra is now in my basket because if I’m going to rage-squat in my living room, I might as well do it while breathing.

Also, I wore the TYNA high waisted shorts – comfy, squat-proof, and zero waistband roll. Small wins, people!

Real Talk for the Women in the Back

Hormones are wild. One moment I’m zen, the next I’m crying because someone ate the last chocolate bar. Add exercise to the mix, and it’s like emotional Jenga. But here’s what I’m learning: showing up counts, even when I am angry, tired, or sweaty.

I don’t need to do it perfectly. I just need to do it honestly.

What’s Next:

I’ve booked a beginners strength class. I'm lifting things next. Like actual weights. And probably my spirits too. Stay tuned!
